NBA season is rolling

I am back for some more sports blogging.  Like I said in my last blog, the MLB season is officially over and I will be talking NBA for the remainder of the year.
The West has been a little more exciting than the East so far.  The West is lead by former NBA champs, the Los Angeles Lakers and their scoring fiend Kobe Bryant.  They have not lost a game so far with a record of 7-0.  But on the Lakers tail are the New Orleans Hornets who also have not lost a game, with a record of 6-0.  They are trying to get back to the post season and are lead by former All-Star point guard Chris Paul.  He will easily average a double-double like the past three years which will give his team even a better chance of getting back to their old ways.  The Denver Nuggets whose All-Star player Carmelo Anthony is looking to get moved this year.  He tells the media, "It's time for a change."  Last but not least for the West, the young and talented Oklahoma City Thunder are still in the races for the playoffs for their second year in a row.
Kevin Durant getting up

Now for the East, the talented Boston Celtics are having a great season with their young talented, double-double machine, Rajon Rondo.  He has been throwing out assist like a mad man all season so far.  Another stud point guard in the East is Bulls All-Star Derrick Rose.  He has uped his points this year and will try to lead his Bulls team to a better playoff seed than the 8, like last year.  With the addition of low post scorer Carlos Boozer the Bulls chances have strength a lot. The Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, and Atlanta Hawks will all be in the top seeds in the East by the end of the year.
Rondo & Rose hustle for the lose ball

That is all I have for the NBA season update so far.  Tune in next week for some more NBA news and updates.

The MLB season is finally over

I am back for some more sports blogging.  Things will be changing up from my recent blog entry's.  Mainly because now the baseball season is finally over and professional basketball is starting up.  So now I will just be talking about NBA for the next months.
As for the MLB season, it ended pretty rough for all you Texas Rangers fans.  They went into this series with a advantage with a better offensive team than the San Fransisco Giants.  In game one, both ace pitchers from each team threw.  Rangers Cliff Lee vs. Giants Tim Lincecum .  Texas got a early lead, but in the 5th inning Giants in fielder Juan Uribe crushed a 3run bomb, additional runs were added on that inning, giving the Giants a 6 run 5th inning.  They scored five more, beating the Rangers 11-7.  Game 2, the Giants held the Rangers scoreless and the Giants scored seven runs, beating the Rangers 7-0.  These were some rough loses for the Texas Rangers.  Now the Rangers were playing at their home ball park, down two games.  Game 3, the Rangers got 3 runs early and just played ahead the whole game and finally got a key win they needed.  Game 4 or the second game the Rangers got to play at home did not go as how they wanted as the held Texas from scoring a run as the Giants scored 4.  Now down 3 games to 1 the Rangers needed some key wins.  Game 5, both ace pitchers are back on the mound.  Tim Lincecum threw the best game of his post season recording 10 strikeouts in this one, shutting down the Rangers offense.  In the 7th inning, the Giants get a key 3 run bomb from shortstop Edgar Renteria, carrying the Giants to victory and their first World Series title in 56 years.  The Giants did not do it with a star player but everyone on their roster knew their role and they prevailed in the end, and will be back next year to defend their title as World Series champs.
Giants celebrate after win
Now for the NBA, the Eastern Conference has been a good start for many teams.  The fan favorite, the Miami Heat are in second place with a record of 2-1.  They are behind the Atlanta Hawks who are undefeated with a 3-0 record.  The Hawks will continue with a winning record all throughout the season, with a great offensive team.  The Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics will make some noise as the season goes on.

The Western Conference are lead by the defending champs, the LA Lakers and their star player Kobe Bryant.  Big things are in store for them, as they try to go for a three peat.  Some squads trying to stop them will be the young Oklahoma City Thunder lead by four year player, Kevin Durant.  Also the Dallas Mavericks, Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets, and San Antonio Spurs all want to get in to NBA playoffs and win the tittle.

As for right now in sports, the MLB season is finally over.  Many fans wish is was still going on becasue it is a exciting sport.  But now it is NBA time, we have about 6 months of NBA to enjoy so we will be enjoying every minute of it.  Tune in next week for some more sports blogging.

And there were only 2...

I am back for some more sports blogging.  The MLB is now in the World Series, meaning only two teams are left.  The NBA preseason is finally over.  The real season has finally started.
The ALCS and the NLCS are finally over.  The New York Yankees lost to the strong Texas Rangers in six games.  The underdog Texas Rangers were to hot and had to much momentum on their side.  The stud Yankees team did not have enough to make a come back.  With the win by the Rangers, enters them into the next round aka the World Series.  As for the ALCS, the San Fransisco Giants were the underdog just like the Texas Rangers.  The fan favorite for this series were the Philadelphia Philies, who lost in six games just like the Yankees.  The media and the analyst had all predicted that the World Series teams would be the New York Yankees vs. the Philadelphia Philies.  But this years world series will be way different than everyone wanted.  Coverage for these games starts Wednesday October 26.

This will be the pitching match up in game 1 of the World Series.

Rangers ace, Cliff Lee
The NBA has finally started and the new and improved Miami Heat have taken there first lost to the veteran Boston Celtic team.  The Heat were lead by Lebron James.  Their franchise piece, Dwyane Wade had six turnovers in the loss.  He has been held to injury during most of the preseason so he was a little shakened up.  The Boston Celtics have always had good team chemistry and that is why they came out on top.

The Heat Big 3 vs. The 'Real' Big 3

This is a good month of sports.  The NBA season has just started and should continue to get better and more exciting.  The MLB is more important as of now, because of the World Series.  Many sports fans and I will be enjoying this great sporting all around.

One Round Down

I am back for some more sports blogging.  The NBA season is still just in the preseason games.  So not much is going on there.  For more important things, the MLB playoffs have already played the first series of their division.
The playoffs are usually really close games and series but this year so far was kind of a change.  The Philadelphia Phillies, having one of the best teams in the playoffs completely destroyed the Cincinnati Reds in a three game sweep.  The first game they played the Phillies ace pitcher Roy Halladay threw a shutout, meaning the Reds did not even score.  Things did not get in better for the Reds, losing the next two games ending the series getting swept.  Another short series was the fourth ranked New York Yankees vs. the Minnesota Twins.  Many people thought this would be a good series but the underdog, the Yankees came out on top still.  This series was a high scoring one but the Twins just could not handle the veteran Yankee team.  As for a closer game, the Tampa Bay Rays played the Texas Rangers in a clutch five games.  The first two games were won by the Rangers, then the next two were clutch come back wins for the Rays making it a 2-2 series.  Then on October 12, game 5 was played and the Rangers took a good solid win with the final score being 5-1.  The last series was the San Fransisco Giants vs. the Atlanta Braves.  The Braves have battled many injuries this year and are not 100 percent.  You could tell in the playoffs. The Braves only got one win out of the whole series, making the Giants ease into the next round.

There are now four teams left in the MLB playoffs.  The New York Yankees will be playing the Texas Rangers and the Philadelphia Phillies will be taking on the San Fransisco Giants.  This are all clutch games and the best team will come out on top.  Tune in next week on some more playoff baseball updates.

Closer & Closer

I am back again for some more sports blogging.  To inform you on the Major League Baseball playoff deal.  Sadly the basketball season still has not started!  But is getting closer every single day.
The Major League Baseball regular season is finally over, but there is still about a month to be played in the playoffs and World Series.  Only four teams from the National League and four from the American League are selected to be in the MLB playoffs.  For the National League, the one seed, the Philadelphia Philies will be taking on the three seed the Cincinnati Reds.  The San Fransisco Giants are at the two seed, taking on the four seed the Atlanta Braves.  This series will be involved in some good pitching.  As for the American League, the Tampa Bay Ray who sunk into first place at the end of the year are listed at one.  The Rays will be taking on the short handed Texas Rangers who are still not 100 percent.  Are you wondering where the hot Yankees went?  They fell apart at the end of the year but are still have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs.  They are in the four seed and are playing the strong Minnesota Twins.  This series will probably be the most exciting of the all because anything can happen.  All of this action will be starting Wednesday, October 6th.

Finally some NBA news!  The preseason has started for NBA, yesterday the New York Knicks took a win over the over seas team Milano.  The new acquisition of all-star power forward, Amare Stoudemire was great.  He lead the team with 32 points.  As for new acquisitions, the home squad the Chicago Bulls newly signed, former all-star forward Carlos Boozer broke his hand on Saturday and will be out for two months.  This injury will hurt the Bulls and may hurt their playoff chances but you never know.

So tune in next week and get your update on the MLB playoffs and some more preseason basketball news.

NBA hurry up!

I am back again for some more sports blogging.  To inform you on some more Major League Baseball.  Sadly the basketball season still has not started!  But is getting closer every single day.
As of today, September 28 2010 there are 5 games left this season before the playoffs actually start.  The New York Yankees who were leading last week by on and a half games are now trailing the Tampa Bay Rays by one game.  The two teams played a four game series last week, and they split it 2-2, letting the Rays take a lead.  The AL Central has been decided for quite some time, with the Twins with the second best record in the MLB with 92 wins.  They are also nine games up on the Chicago White Sox.  So the central is set.  As for the AL west, the Texas Rangers who are still stacked on offense are heading into the playoffs with ease.
Now for the National League, the Cincinnati Reds who destroyed through all their Central division opponents.  They are now six games up in their division leaving the St. Louis Cardinals trailing behind them.  All of the Reds players are healthy and ready for the playoffs.  The NL East has spread alot farther by a six game margin.  The Philadelphia Phillies are leading this division, behind them are the Atlanta Braves who made a good run for it but the Phillies are just to deep.

The NL West is still coming right down to it.  The Colorado Rockies are out of it but the San Diego Padres and the San Fransisco Giants are still battling for first place.  With the Giants leading by one game.
This is just a brief update about what is going on in the professional baseball world.  Each day is getting closer and closer to the World Series and also the start of the NBA season.  So tune in next week for another sports recap and hopefully some basketball news finally!

Playoffs here we come......almost

I am back again for some more sports blogging.  To inform you on some more Major League Baseball.  Sadly the basketball season still has not started!  But is getting closer every single day.
As of today, September 21, 2010 there are 12 games left this season before the playoffs and World Series start.  The New Yankees who are still leading their division by one and a half games up on the Tampa Bay Rays.  The Rays have to get in the swing of things for the last 12 games of the season if there going to have any chance of catching the Yankees.  The AL Central is set with the Minnesota Twins leading, up by eleven games on the Chicago White Sox.  There is no way the White Sox can catch up to the Twins.  As for the AL west, the Texas Rangers who have an amazing offensive team are eight games up, but they are heading into the playoffs without their best hitter Josh Hamilton.
Rangers power hitter, Josh Hamilton

Now for the  National League, the Chicago Cubs are way to far out of the Central division.  The St.Louis Cardinals are trailing seven and a half games in behind the Cincinnati Reds, who are going into the playoffs at ease.  The NL East has spread alot farther by a five game margin.  The Philadelphia Phillies are leading this division, behind them are the Atlanta Braves who made a good run for it but the Phillies are just to deep.  The NL West is coming right down to it,  with the San Francisco Giants leading by the a half game in front of the San Diego Padres and the Colorado Rockies are only one and a half games out.  This division is all up for grabs, it will be decided by the team that wants to play the best ball.
This is just a brief update about what is going on in the professional baseball world.  Each day is getting closer and closer to the World Series and also the start of the NBA season.  So tune in next week for another sports recap and hopefully some basketball news finally!

Closer to the end of September

I am back for a second week of blogging.  To inform you on some more Major League Baseball.  Sadly the basketball season has not started!  But oh well, baseball is still one of my favorite sports.
As of today, September 13, 2010 there are 19 games left this season before the playoffs and World Series start.  The New Yankees who were leading their division one and a half games up on the Tampa Bay Rays are now only a half game up.  The young- talented Rays have had a good stretch wining five out of ten games to help them almost get into that number one spot.  As for the other teams in this division, the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, and the Baltimore Orioles they have run out of time leaving it a tight race between the Yankees and Rays.  The AL Central is pretty much set with the Minnesota Twins leading, up by six games on the Chicago White Sox.  As for the AL west, the Texas Rangers who have an amazing offensive team are eight and a half games up, they are heading into the playoffs on a good note.
Now for the  National League, the hometown favorites, the Chicago Cubs are getting destroyed in the Central division.  The St.Louis Cardinals are trailing six games in behind the Cincinnati Reds, who no one thought would be leading.
Reds leader, Joey Votto

The NL East is alot closer than the Central, the Philadelphia Phillies are leading by one game to the injury proned Atlanta Braves.  This one will be a fight to the finish!  The NL West is also like that too, as the San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, and the Colorado Rockies all battle to win their division.
This is just a brief update about what is going on in the professional baseball world.  Each day is getting closer and closer to the World Series and also the start of the NBA season.  So tune in next week for another sports recap.

Race to the playoffs begins

For my first blog entry, I will be telling you about the standings of the MLB. I will be informing you about the updates in professional Baseball.  I will not only be talking about baseball, but also basketball.  Once the sports change then you will be getting your basketball information.  Baseball is just now starting to wind on down with the playoffs and World Series about to start.  As for basketball, that will be starting shortly.
As of today, September 7, 2010, there are 23 games left to be played.  The team with the best record in baseball, the Yankees (my favorite team) are not only leading their division with wins, but the hole American League.  Leading them to victory, is their ace pitcher CC Sabathia with an outstanding record of 19-5.  The "Bronx Bombers" are one and a half games up on the young, talented Tampa Bay Rays.  Many baseball fans did not think that this team could ever put up a fight against the Yankees.  The rest of the division leaders are ahead by a good margin, the Minnesota Twins are four and a half games up in the Central.
The Twins All Star catcher, Joe Mauer

The West is also a solid margin, the Texas Rangers with a large six and a half game lead.
Now for the National League, the East which is always a good race is close just like it always is.  The Philadelphia Phillies are in first but are in a good battle with their rivals, the Atlanta Braves who are only a half game back out of first place.  This division will be a good one, all the way down to the end.  They don't call it the wild wild west for no reason, the San Diego Padres are in first place for the first time in over thirty years!  They are lead by ace pitcher Mat Latos and power hitting first basemen Adrian Gonzalez.  No one was expecting the padres to be beating the Los Angeles Dodgers or the Colorado Rockies.  Now for the most popular division around the state of Illinois, the Central Division. This includes the rivalry of the Chicago Cubs vs. the St. Louis Cardinals.  The cubs are burried down in fourth place while the Cards are in second, trailing six games to the young Cincinnati Reds team.
This is just a brief update about what is going on in the professional baseball world.  Alot can happen in 23 games and the race to the playoffs/World Series should be an exciting one.  So tune in next week for my next update about the MLB world.
